• No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about poker. He routinely would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the detrimental feedback from other people kill his goal of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a learning period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Although Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
