• No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

    Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five where he enjoyed betting on different card games when he was young. He found himself becoming really aggressive in the above-mentioned card games as he was playing his father. After graduating from high school, Howard decided to place college on hold for a little bit and moved to New York City to play some big-time chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s 1st two years were rough as he played extensive hours and lost a majority of the time. He made some additional money by being an assistant for the poker players. He theorized he might better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more rest and focus attention more on the game.

    The real improvement in his skills happened when he began playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable players would often wager against one another. He was able to access some of the foremost players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would hone his strategic thinking abilities. Howard used these strategy ideas in the game of NL holdem.

    He also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie Duke was a great student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the correct decision. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to head out to Sin City and play in the WSOP competition. Annie Duke is one of the strongest female players the poker world today. Howard Lederer relocated to Vegas in 1993 and competed in cash games for the subsequent 10 years. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard decided to participate in more tournaments.
