• No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

    Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 in which he liked playing various card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming very competitive in these particular card games while competing against his dad. After graduating from high school, Howard made a decision to put college on hold for a little bit and headed to New York to compete in some formidable chess. While competing in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were rough as he played countless hours and lose most times. He made some extra money by becoming an assistant for the poker players. He judged he could boost his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to get more rest and concentrate more on poker.

    The real improvement in his skills happened when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best gamblers would often challenge one another. Howard was able to access a few of the foremost players in chess. With their assistance, Howard Lederer would sharpen his cunning thinking abilities. He applied these strategic ideas to the game of NL holdem.

    Howard also helped his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. She was an excellent student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the proper decision. Howard Lederer told Annie to head out to Vegas and play in the WSOP competition. She is one of the strongest female players the poker world ever. Howard moved to Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and participated in money games for the next 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he made the decision to participate in more tournaments.
