Stu is considered by most to the finest No Limit Texas holdem Poker gambler ever.

The 3 time World Poker Champion was born in New York in ‘53 and started wagering poker before becomming a teenager.

The young gambler began betting gin and at the age of ten had won his initial gin tournament, while on holiday with his mother and father. By the age of 14 the small poker genius had become a pro and stopped going to school.

In 1954 Stu Ungar entered the record books by succeeding 10,000 dollars in a gin tournament without sacrificing a single hand, a record which still stands in New York today.

The quick talking wiz kid has been compared, in poker terms, to athletic greats such as Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods. Stu Ungar had a true talent for playing poker but regardless of his successes in Texas holdem poker, he preferred wagering gin.

Stu once said that there may some day be a much better No Limit Holdem gambler than him except he could not see how anyone could ever be a better gin player.

In 1980 Stu was put on the global map as one of the very best Hold em Poker gamblers in the planet when he was crowned World Poker Champion for the 1st time. Astonishingly it was the very first time he had played in the tournament.

The subsequent year he put aside any suggestions that it had been luck, by successfully protecting his title. And in 1997 Stu set the record by winning his 3rd World poker championship.

But this poker legend also battled with substance abuse and a year after succeeding his 3rd title Stu past away in his hotel room. According to physicians, he had passed away from cardiac arrest which was caused by his lifestyle.

Stu had started out with practically nothing but his ability and talent for the casino game which made this poker excellent a millionaire many times over.
