I’ve been betting poker now for about 5 years, I’ve bet cards my entire life beginning with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various styles of Brag and basic random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head game. I used to often win, whatever game we were playing and even though I liked to call it skill, it was really tough to justify considering the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was happy to accept I was having a prolonged run of good fortune.

Then came Poker, or a lot more importantly Holdem Poker, made popular by a bunch of Texas card gamblers in the 1960’s and since developed into one of the biggest card phenomena ever observed. Poker is totally the new black, it can be super cool with quite a few of the world’s top superstars racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick scan via the TV channels these days and you can not escape from poker, and of course there’s the fabled WSOP, the Holy Grail and Mecca all rolled into one for each and every single gambler.

So with all of this fresh discovered recognition, with so quite a few Tv shows devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with quality material written by the leading minds on poker, when are folks going to understand that this casino game is all about position!?
